Step 2. Create your Vision
Once you have prepared your mind, Got your self right, and you are ÒGRABBING 15Ó every day to anchor your thoughts, build your confidence and push the negative from your mind, it is imperative you have a clear vision of where you are going and what you want to achieve. Stephen R. Covey, in his book titled Seven Habits of Highly Effective Individuals devotes an entire habit, Habit Number Two, to this effective tool. Having a clear and concise vision of what we want to accomplish brings meaning into every day with a clear understanding of your desired direction and destination. By keeping the end goal in mind, you can make certain that whatever you do does not violate the criteria you have defined as supremely important.
As homebuilders, we followed the blueprints of each and every project. The home had a look and feel to it in precise detail, first in the mind of the architect, then validated and certified by engineers, submitted to municipalities for yet another check and then run through a series of UBC (Uniform Building Codes) and finally approved before the first shovel of dirt could ever be turned. Just as the home on the drawing, you first create the mental image of what your XANGO business is going to look like. A mental creation. This becomes a mission statement of sort, a philosophy or creed that focuses on what you want to do and be. Determine the direction you want to go, the destination you want to reach, or the lifestyle you want to live once you achieve your goals. Write down the results of your mental planning and later, we will identify and quantify the action steps you need to take from your current reality that will lead you to the desired result.

A number of years ago I attended a seminar where we used what I will call a Vision Board. This is nothing more than a visual illustration of beginning with the end in mind (See Diagram as end result) and then using a baseline or beginning point (current reality) and then the action steps (Again, we will talk about the action steps in our next segment) required to take you from where you are right now to your end goal or vision.
The Vision Board defines the structure of the creative process. Please have this page in front of you as you work with your Teacher. As you create your organization, you and your team will always use this structure.
Definition of
insanity: ÒContinuing to do what I have always done and yet expect
different results.Ó

Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.
- Dr. Napoleon Hill,
In his book, Seven Habits of Highly Successful People, Stephen R. Covey states that many people climb the ladder of success only to find the ladder was leaning against the wrong wall. He writes, "We may be very busy, we may be very efficient, but we will also be truly effective only when we begin with the end in mind."
To succeed, Covey suggests visualization. He points out many of our greatest athletes utilize visualization. Covey writes: "You can do it in any area of your life. Before a performance, a sales presentation, a difficult confrontation, or the daily challenge of meeting a goal, see it clearly, vividly, relentlessly, over and over again. Create an internal Ôcomfort zoneÕ. Then, when you get into the situation, it isn't foreign. It doesn't scare you."
Before an airplane can leave the airport, the pilot must log the exact flight plan documenting departure time, final destination, altitude, and even which mountain he will pass. We, like that pilot, must determine our end goal, our vision of where we are headed, and what we want to accomplish. We must log our own flight pattern is we are to succeed. I have found that using, what I call a Vision Board, is extremely helpful.
Clearly defining your vision and relevant current reality creates a shared vision with accountable action steps that align the efforts and energy of your support team.
Shared vision is not emotional tension - it is synergistic energy. Emotional tension occurs when there is no clearly defined end result and when action steps have not been clearly identified and reliably acted upon.
Develop your Vision Board. Visualize what you want to accomplish with XANGO. Be very honest with the current reality and then develop what action steps you must take in order to achieve your goal.
End Result:
Define your 1-year vision of the monthly income stream you want to create from your organization. Why is this income stream meaningful to you? Is it worth the investment of 3-6 hours each week? What is the amount you would need to save and invest at 5% to generate a similar monthly income stream?
Looking at each point that you have in your End Result, write down where you are in relation to it today. What do we have, and what do we need to learn and to create our desired End Result?
Example:
I have a support team that is committed to teaching, mentoring and managing me to help me achieve the 1- and 3- year visions I identified as meaningful to me.
I am committed to organizing my life so that I can invest 3-6 hours each week to create my organization.
I understand the structure for creating a strong working relationship with my Teacher and am confident I can teach this competency to my future business partners.
IÕm ready to learn the competency of selecting and leading potential partners through the business evaluation process.
I have identified my why (To be financially free in 3 years) so I can live my life the way I want to live it ilo of just surviving. Live life with passion and purpose!
